Be Original.. Be Unconventional..
Every creation on this planet has only one thing in common, and that is that they are different from one another. Nature has not imitated or copied a single thing. Everyone is provided with a different set of skills, a different set of strengths, a different set of weaknesses and different abilities as well as disabilities. All these permutations and combinations of abilities, skills, strengths, weaknesses, etc make us an “individual”.
I am sure you have heard this a lot many times, you would have read many self-help books, you would have listened to various motivational podcasts, and you would have also attended a few inspirational seminars or webinars. You would have surely heard these hundreds of times that you are different from others. And you also know that to ‘be original’ you need to ‘be yourself’. But, what does this mean? What is meant by being original?
Being original simply means to be true to yourself. In pursuit of so-called success, people get into the habit of lying; they don’t just lie to others, but they start lying to themselves. People start putting up a mask to hide their failures or inabilities and slowly the mask gets dissolved in their blood and the fakeness becomes an integral part of their life. Unfortunately, we are losing our genuineness and becoming more fake day by day just to impress the people around us: our family, our friends, our relatives, and society.
Why is it that we are looking for validation from everyone around us? Why do we fall in the trap of following the crowd? Why can’t we be proud of who we are, why can’t we feel good about our choices in life, and why do we have to give credit to what others are saying?
All we need to do is to be true to ourselves and accept the situations in life. When we do well in life, society may show their love and support, but when we fail to do well, our own beliefs are the real supporters. Don’t expect anyone to be there for you – We came into this world alone and we will be leaving this world alone. Hence, we should not expect society to be there for us throughout our life.
Do not pray for an easy life, be strong and struggle, only then will we be able to create a path of our own and be original, be unconventional.
